I decided to stop by this place, per recommendations from a bubble tea loving friend.
Food I've tried:
- I realize that this is a fruit tea/bubble tea store. But as someone who usually doesn't drink bubble and fruit tea, I'm basing my review off of the drink that I got.
- ICE FRENCH COCOA LATTE ($6 - large): this drink is delicious. It basically is chocolate milk but better. It has none of the artificial chocolate taste that you get from normal chocolate milk. Texture wise, you can almost taste the granularity of the chocolate particles (which maybe doesn't sound appealing when written out in words but I really enjoyed the texture!). I realize I'm paying $6 for chocolate milk, but hey it's delicious chocolate milk that you can customize the sweetness for. I returned to this store twice to order the same thing, and the flavor was very consistent.
- Note: you can customize the sweetness and ice level for every drink. I personally like 50% for both.
- One surprising thing I noticed when the staff was making my drink was that they were using organic Stonyfield whole milk. Kudos to them for using nice milk. Having personally worked in cafes before, I know a lot of places use cheap milk that don't taste as good.
- They currently have a deal where if you pay more than $10 with venmo, you get $2 off!
Atmosphere:
- Pretty small store that is long. Usually there are limited counter seats that are closed due to covid. At the back of the store is the counter.
- Tip: if you walk half an avenue west to Broadway avenue, there is a decent number public outdoor seating.
Service:
- I got my drink pretty quickly.
- The staff were not overtly friendly, but they got their job done efficiently and I was satisfied.
Overall:
- A great tasting drink worth the price. Price is pretty comparable to any other bubble tea store.
