I visited during restaurant week ($25 for 2 course lunch).
Food I've tried:
- SALMON CHIRASHI: I asked for no cilantro, and thankfully there were no sneaky cilantro pieces that made its way onto my plate. The salmon was nice and fresh. Overall, a pretty standard fresh chirashi bowl.
- NEW ENGLAND FISHERMAN'S PLATTER: very large portion. Everything was well seasoned and not overly salty. The fried batter felt clean and not overly greasy.
Atmosphere:
- I came during weekend lunch and it was extremely crowded. Thankfully we made a reservation (they usually don't hold it if you are more than 15 minutes late, but we were able to call ahead and ask for an extension on that time window which they very graciously allowed). When we were leaving the restaurant we saw that there was a line out the door. If you are planning to visit during busy times, be sure to make a reservation.
- Seating wise, the restaurant is pretty large.
Service:
- Because it was so busy, we sometimes had trouble getting the attention of our waiter. But when we did interact with the staff they were very friendly.
Overall:
- Flavor is very standard New England seafood restaurant. The food was good, but not mind blowing. Price for restaurant week I thought was reasonable, and the seafood was fresh. I can't really comment on the price per value for the regular menu, but the other menu items are at a higher end sea food restaurant price.
