A true gem serving the best thai food in Boston.
Food I've tried: (* = my favorite)
- SHRIMP CHIPS (Complementary): very light and airy chips that signaled all the wonderful flavors to come. These chips were so addicting, I definitely can finish many plate's worth.
- CRYING TIGER* ($16.95): the meat was amazingly tender, melting in my mouth. Flavor wise, it was perfectly seasoned, and I could truly appreciate the freshness of the meat. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and not overly mushy, providing a beautiful complement to the protein. For the price, it is a very reasonable portion.
- CHICKEN SATAY ($8.95): the meat was well cooked and not overly dry. The dish came with pickled vegetables and a sweet peanut sauce. A better than average chicken satay that was well executed.
- GLASS NOODLE AND SHRIMP* ($17.95): very warm, homey, full of delicious flavors. There was a generous portion of shrimp and pork belly, that complemented the texture of the vermicelli noodles. The seasoning was very lovely, as the saltiness of the oyster sauce merged very well with the savory flavors of the sesame oil.
- MANGO WITH SWEET STICKY RICE ($8.95): standard mango with sticky rice dessert. The mango was slightly firm, but not sour. The sticky rice complemented well with the sweetness of the mango and the condensed milk.
- THAI ICED COFFEE ($3.95): coffee was very aromatic, very refreshing for a hot day.
- THAI MILK GREEN TEA ($4.25): the green tea was also delicious, as the flavors shined brightly through the creaminess of the milk. Both the coffee and the green tea was perfectly sweetened, without the overly sickly sweetness that I tend to find at a lot of places.
Atmosphere:
- The decor is akin to a homey living room vibe. There are a decent number of tables.
Service:
- Staff was extremely friendly, and we got our food relatively quick.
Overall:
- Beautiful balance of flavors, reasonable portions for a reasonable price. I can't wait to return again.
