I love the idea and concept of the restaurant, but the execution of the food was a bit underwhelming.
Food I've tried:
- KFC BAO ($14 - 2 buns): basically fried cauliflower on bao bun. The cauliflower is well cooked and tastes very clean. Interesting flavor combination, too much ginger in the batter for my taste
- AHI TUNA POKE ($19): pretty good and fresh. Comes with chips. Liked this better than KFC bao.
- DUMPLING HAPPY HOUR ($5 - 20 dumplings): standard fried dumpling, came covered in sauce so it was a bit salty for me
- SPICY VEGETABLE WOUP WITH PORK BELLY: pretty standard ramen. The pork belly is tender.
- CAULIFLOWER OKONOMIYAKI ($16): basically tasted like cauliflower covered in okonomiyaki sauce, which was a bit too salty.
- COCONUT CALAMARI ($18): I was pleasantly surprised by this dish. The batter is very light and very clean.
Atmosphere:
- Very cozy, with the slightly dimmer lit atmosphere. There is an outdoor seating area.
Service:
- Staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu.
Overall:
- I appreciated how the menu is very novel in creating fusion Asian food. How the food was cooked, it was very well done. The flavor profile wise, generally everything leaned on the saltier side. I did appreciate how the flavor combination is something I have never tried before.
